Bend Residence

A high-desert home shaped around weather, privacy, and place.

Summary

Designed for Bend’s high-desert climate, this residence balances shelter and openness through courtyards, roof forms, material choices, and a plan organized around privacy, light, and landscape.

The Challenge

The home needed to respond to a rugged climate while still feeling open, warm, and connected. Snow, sun, privacy, views, and neighborhood context all shaped the architectural response.

The Spire Move

Spire organized the home around protected outdoor rooms, careful roof forms, layered entries, and a plan that balances everyday function with moments of openness and connection.

The Result

A modern residence that feels both grounded and expressive — familiar in its materials, but carefully reinterpreted for contemporary high-desert living.
